They use it because it's fast, clean, convenient and makes them more money.

I ought to know better than to get into this, but here's a different twist.. Years ago there was an article in one the car magazines about this guy with a 65 Dodge with a six cylinder. He NEVER changed the oil!! Every 3000 miles he would change the filter and add one quart of Quaker State oil to replace what came out with the filter. At the time of the article he had over 300,000 miles and still going!!! Believe it ......or not?
