1992 300CE M104 motor

I have a M104 motor and tranny that my brother wants to buy from me to install into his car.

This motor just had the head gasket, valve job, water pump, t-stat, and other parts replaced on it. The original engine has 207K on it when the work was completed and now has 211K. Car got in an accident and the insurance company totaled it. I have the car.

Tranny has 211K on it and is original, obviously someone would have to rebuild it.

What would it be worth? What would one expect to pay for such a motor?

How much did the engine repairs cost? maybe 1/2 of that cost..$1200 max.

Engine repair costs are about $2500 with work being done by MR MB Motors in Los Angeles.

That many miles on engine I've seen them at $600 for motor.$600 for trans.

I was told that the motor should now go for another 200K based upon having the valve job done as well. Bottom end on these things are supposed to be bullet proof. Why would it be only $600? For a motor?

Over 200,000 miles.

My '93 300CE engine just turned 200K. A head gasket was done about 3000 miles ago. The car does not use ONE drop of oil. Would expect another 100K out of it.
