Replacing all the a/c O rings

1988 300E. I'm replacing all the black, original O rings with the new green style. I bought a kit from Phil at Fastlane for my car but it didn't include the O rings for the compressor flange. Anyone know where I can buy some? Thanks.

You might call or email Phil to see if he has them by another part number. If not, Arizona Mobile Air will probably stock what you need.

My local Car Quest and Napa carry universal kits for about $8 that also include the round "springs" and such. So far one kit has been enough for two cars. But I have not tried the kits on the Benz.

Do they come with instructions?

If you have time can you give us a recap?

Thanks

Instructions? No. But the o-rings are pretty easy to do on the cars I have. I have NOT looked at the connections on a Benz. But if I assume they are they same then all one needs is an AC connection decoupler kit. They are plastic, and over-priced, tools that come in several sizes. They open up then close down on the tube. Then you push the tool into the coupling where it spreads a round spring that is holding the tube in place. Hard to describe and I do not have pics. Then the line backs out. Usually two o-rings per connection. Just VERY carefully remove the o-rings and replace. Best not to try to cut of the old ones, any metal nicks will be very bad.

If the Benz has no coupling locations, you do not need those plastic decouplers. Link for example of those below.

My '96 doesn't use those spring couplers and neither did the '83 we had. Either the fittings were bolted flush with studs and nuts (TXV and compressor) or screwed together.
