A/C compressor removal 124 chassis
 

Can anyone help me with instructions regarding removal/installation of the ac compressor? Mine is a 1992 300TE with a coolant leak from the compressor. I need to replace it.

Recover what freon is left, disconnect hoses at compressor, relieve tension on belt and unbolt old compressor. Installation is reverse with the exception of adding some oil to compressor prior to bolting it on.

Use an allen wrench to remove the manifold from the compressor (8,10, 12mm? I don't remember), then 4 13mm bolts removed from the underside. Removing the plastic sound control side panel (three 8 or 6mm hex bolts) helps access, and the wheel off.

Coolant leak from the compressor???
