squeaking fan

85 107. Heater fan is starting to squeak at low and medium speeds. I have not investigated other than looking at the CD. Can the bearings be lubed or should I be looking for another fan motor. Any other common causes of squeaks?

I have the same problem on my 85 190E. Does the whole dash have to come out for the bearings to be lubed, or the fan to be changed? Is it very labor intensive?

thanks.

Blower motor is under the hood, plastic air intake & wiper mechanism must be removed to replace. About 2 hrs at repair shop! MOTOR lists for $260.
