190E Driver's Windshield Water Leak

Reading this board over the years I have learned that htere are no new problems, only ones that you haven't seen yet.

In heavy rain, my 190E 2.3-16 leaks water down the driver's side windshield piller, about midway up from the bottom. The previous owner sealed the outside of the windshield seal with something (looks like silicone). Could this be a sun roof leak? Any ideas where the water could be coming from and how to fix it.

Have you checked the water drainage channels aren't clogged?

Everything looks clean but I can't see very far because of the roof support bars. I can't tell where the sun roof drains and thought it might be a broken drain hose.
