1998 W210 Door Actuator Splice/Repair
Good Evening,
I have to replace my left side rear door due to a minor accident. I have found a replacement door from a local yard, complete with an actuator installed. I was disconnecting the yellow vacuum line on my old door (heated the part gently with a hair dryer) and attempted to pull the yellow line off of the gray vacuum connector. The line stretched and broke at the connector. Hopefully there is enough extra line to replace the 2 inch piece, but in case there is not - has anyone spliced their yellow line - homemade kit or does Mercedes stock a repair kit. Also - I assume I can warm the front end of the yellow tube and push it on the gray connector. Is that correct? Thanks, Frank Last edited by FrankC0402; 08-31-2011 at 07:19 AM. |

Should be OK, just don't get carried away with heat.

I had enough slack and the gentle warming and being patient did the trick.
