86 300E ac compressor

Im putting a used ac compressor in a 86 300E and dont know how to get this connection off, I dont know what this is? How do I get this off? Thanks. Does the whole thing come off with that clip?

Hmmm... I've never done the job you are trying to do... based just on the picture you took it looks like it might be held in place by a C-Clip... if this is the case you need a pair of "circlip" pliers (auto supply store). Like I said though I'm just guessing based on the picture you took...

I was hoping that it would just unplug, but that is not the case.

You need that connection. That is the speed sensor that senses the compressor speed & sends it to the Kilma relay.

I always find it useful to look up the parts and see what's involved. Looks like a simple spring clip and an O-ring.
