Brake pads for my SEC
What is a good brand of pads to go on my car? I am going to definately need these soon (within the week). An suggestions? Is this something I might be able to do at home or should I just take it in somewhere? Would it be better to buy my own pads and take them or what?

Brakes are relatively simple to do. Stick with the OEM pads and rotors to maintain stopping power and avoid squeaks.

There is an article here under DIY on the top of the page on how to change brakes. In my opinion, there is nothing better than the OEM pads, the only drawback is brake dust.

ATE front rotors and OEM pads work well on the W126 SEC. Cheers, Andrew Seidel.

If you're tired of the brake dust like I was, try Axxis Metalmaster brake pads -- they also come in a Deluxe version -- both are up to the task at bringing your car to a stop like the OEM's but only after about the first 200-300 miles of wear. They feel soft at first but gradually wear in and produce good results with HARDLY ANY BRAKE DUST!
