again, there must be a lighter in the car, somewhere.......

had this frequently in the SLK320, they ended up replacing the ESP switch in the center console and problem was solved.

You'll need someone with a MB specific scan tool. Some brake shops might have one that will work.

My indie said that he would check the codes tomorrow, I will let you guys know what the codes are. :D

What did it cost? :)

The indy said that there is a censor in the pedal that is bad, he says the part is about $200, does that sound right? :)

What was the exact fault code?

I just talked to the dealer and the service adviser said that the brake switch is the problem NOT the throttle sensor. Should I buy both parts? I'm under the gun here, the new owner will be here tomorrow. :D

Didja SEARCH mon?

Let's see, brake lamp switch ~$30 here, takes about 15 minutes to install; $dealer $ should be around $300 (10 X reasonable DIY cost).

Search "steering angle sensor", then search some more; mine was cured once by the secret SAS "handshake". YMMV, not familiar with your year MB. Is your battery low at all? These cars will drive you NUTS sometimes because EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED!
Also, the brake lights must be working right so check the connections, sometimes the metal boards that the light sockets screw into melt enough to cause an intermittent connection that's hard to diagnose without careful ohmmetering - and first replace all 3 brakelight bulbs - on mine the filament once broke and reconnected itself in such a way that it showed less than normal resistance, replacing it cured the ABS/ETS prob THAT time.

I'm fixing to install the brake switch. I will let you know what happens. :D

+1, had this problem in my E36. See here: Fuse 21 for ABS blown. - Bimmerforums - The Ultimate BMW Forum

Check the fuses first.
