I gave mine to Delibes when he stopped here on his way to the left coast.

I just assumed the site name was remaining, but now I'm curious too.

As a former 911 and 944 Turbo S owner, I'm very familiar with PelicanParts and have posted there as well. Even own two of Wayne's books - Rebuilding and Modifying 911 Engines and 101 Projects for your 911. Am also looking for another Porsche! Looking forward to what this merger will bring!

Congratulations to all involved,
I am currently between 911's and have a 82 300d and this is great news for all of us. Pelican is one of the best companies I have ever dealt with and I think everyone will be happy. Wayne has one of the greatest support forums on the net and saved me $1000's over the 6 years I had my 911. If anyone is in doubt please go visit Pelican and check out their parts catalogues and see how easy they are to navigate. Congratulations again,

Daniel

I had a feeling about this. I just bought a tie rod from Pelican last week (sorry Fastlane ), and thought about how cool it was they were offering Benz parts now.

Wayne,
Sounds like improvements are on the way. Its good to hear that some of your Porsche customers are vouching for your organization.

Stay away from the OD--it gets pretty rancorous, sometimes.

Are you going to do direct overseas sales or is the third party USA address going to stay?

Nope, the plans are to keep the forums under the same brand / domain name, with the catalog deployed under the Pelican brand. Think of it like the PeachParts forums being sponsored soley by Pelican Parts. We might also link databases and share posts / data with the Pelican site so that people searching there can view posts here, etc.

Our current MBZ catalog is old and very buggy - we've been working on an entirely new overhaul that will integrate about six different databases together. We've been spending the time on the new technology rather than trying to fix the old. So, the MBZ catalog on Pelican is not how the new one will look (the current version doesn't work that well).

At Pelican, we ship to just about every country on Earth. So yes, eventually, the catalog here will be integrated with our International shopping cart with a built-in International rate calculator. A lot of the restrictions that were part of "FastLane" and "AllPartsExpress" will be gone. The plan indeed is to retire those catalogs and move to our new platform when it's ready.

In the meantime, it will be business-as-usual, both the good and the bad (unfortunately, for now).
