lost key
 

lost the only key for my 81 380slc. Took a trip over to the dealership who were quite nice to take my $40 and order me a new key via my vin #. Picked up the key and it won't fit any lock on the 380. Any ideas....thanks

Well, if thats the case... I suspect someone in the cars past had a stuck ignition tumbler, so instead of doing the right (labor inten$ive) thing, they just exchanged the door, trunk and ignition locks and took those keys.

If that's the case, it isn't possible to get a key made at the dealer, as they use the VIN to code the key, but maybe a locksmith can do it?

Automotive locksmith will fix in a jiffy...
