M110 switchover valve connections & vacuum problems
1985 280SEL. Spark plugs, wires, and distributor cap were recently replaced.
Engine and trans were swapped from a 78 280SE euro. Whatever is missing from this photo was taken from the original engine: ![]() The car dies when hot and idling with the A/C on and in gear. Switchover valve suspected, and it's not even hooked up. ![]() ![]() Where do these vacuum hoses hook up to? A few other vacuum maladies: This is not hooked up to anything. ![]() ![]() Nor is this: ![]() This is plugged: ![]() A few more details: Cold starts are immediate, hot starts require giving it some gas. Seems to be running rich and eating fuel excessively. Has a misfire every few seconds MOST of the time but not ALL the time. Any guidance on these issues would be greatly appreciated.

Fuel mixture & warm-up are related to fuel pressures.
Is the electrical connector on the warm-up regulator connected? The vacuum brake booster line should have a vacuum port for the connections to the central locking system.

Thanks for the reply, Doc.
I'm 90% sure the WUR is connected but I'll double check it. The RPMs go very high on cold starts and come down to normal when warm, so I'm guessing it's working. I thought W126s had a separate vacuum system for central locking, with it's own electric pump? Central locking works perfectly on the car.
