300E ATF Change

I have the filter and gasket kit to change the transmission fluid in my 1986 300E (722.320 tranny). Unfortunately, the kit did not come with drain plug seal washers for the pan and torque converter. I understand that they are the same size, but one is copper and the other is aluminum. Since I'll need to pick them up at NAPA, does anyone know the size and material for each? The information doesn't seem to be in any of my references or on this site.

Thanks in advance.

Sealing washers

Both the dealer here in Atlanta and Phil (Fastlane) said that they have the same part number for both the torque converter and pan drain plug washers. It is the aluminum one. The dealer wanted $4.28 each plus tax, so I ordered some from Phil and hope they will get here in time for the weekend's work.

i ordered some from Phil, too... that's the good news.... the bad news is that I lost my radiator yesterday ..... the usual neck break problem...

i really can't complain too loudly...it was the original...so it is 22 years old..

Talked to phil yesterday afternoon... he said the parts should be here today.....

300E Transmission Fluid Changed

JohnM. was right (2nd post above). I finally had to pick up the seal washers from the dealer. The two washers are 10mm, but the pan is copper and the torque converter is aluminum. I changed the fluid and filter this afternoon. The seal washers last installed by an independent were both aluminum and they obviously worked fine.

I noticed that it is pretty easy to line up the torque converter drain plug by lying underneath the car and using a 1-1/16" socket (close to 27mm) to slowly turn the engine over while feeling for the drain plug. The other descriptions I read made it sound difficult to do by yourself.
