Exclamation w201 ignition problems

I have just replaced the lifters on a w201 2.0 engine,as well as the leads, rotor cap and rotor button-the problem i have now is the engine is lumpy with a steady rise and fall.Have tried to reset the ignition by removing the battery leads and the the small plug on the ignition control then getting TDC on first cylinder as well as cylinder one on the rotor, then putting the plug back on the ICM then the battery leads.
Everything was running fine till i did the lifters?..Any Ideas?

Have you checked the firing order, 1-3-4-2?
