HOW TO: Add Support/Firmness to your 201/124 seat
In the later 126 chassis cars Mercedes installed some foam supports to help firm up the front springs. I had an extra set laying around and figured I'd see if they fit in the 201 coils.
I posted this for 124s as well. I think it'll work for them too. If I'm wrong someone let me know and I'll change it. Part Number: 1269142215 http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l2...y/a3d25475.jpg Its a little tall for the 201 seat so it should be a bit more firm/supportive than it normally would be in a 126/123 seat. Its pretty supportive and I rather like how it feels. Very little roll when turning. Feel more modern and firm. http://i.imgur.com/UhdVEl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/SUHbtl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/SHGeel.jpg |

Are they only available in Schwarz? |
What year did they add these supports to the W124?
|
I dont think they did. At least I'm not aware. I only mentioned 124 as I think the seats are similar. As far as I know those foam cylinder supports were 126 (maybe 123 too) parts..

Late W124 leather seats have double the springs, and large foam pads to support them.

I believe my 201 had two front springs and a large foam pad (one on each side) as well. Its a 93 MY.
