bench testing a fuel pump

I have a 90 300 SEL and have had an issue that I can't seem to figure out. It will run for a few minutes then stall and I cant get it started untill it sits for awhile. I think it may be fuel related so I am starting there. I have removed the fuel pump/filter and accumulator from the car and replaced the filter and accumulator. I would like to test the pump so does anyone know of a simple way to test one? I know I can run 12v to it but I suppose if it will pump gas out of a bucket that really doesn't mean anything. If this don't work I will look at the FP regulator and change that. With no test equipment for one of these it is tough. I have also thought maybe a coil but hard to say. I don't think it is something worn as it only has 75,000 miles on the car and it just started all the sudden so to me that is a failure of something rather than plugs or wires which I don't think would do that anyway.

does it do this when cold or when warmed up?

if when cold it could be eha or mixture related

are the pumps noisy or quiet?

It will start when cold and run 15 min or so and stop. If I try to give it fuel it will stall and then very hard to start. I am not sure if this car has two pumps or one. There is only one by the axle. I have no idea what it is but it worked fine when I put it away for the winter and then in the spring it started right up and idled perfect. When I jumped in to take it home it stalled and that was it. I also put a new OVP relay in it with no difference
