Monowiper dissassembly

I'm going to be servicing the wiper on my '89 300CE. Is there any particular grease I should use to lubricate the assembly? How hard is it to get the assembly apart? Do I need to mark anything to keep the assembly in alignment for reassembly?

i did the one on my $300te back in the spring. Truly i didn't pay much attention to what I was doing. I'm a mech by trade. I used Bel-ray waterproof grease from my son's dirt bike stuff. i had cleaned everything internally up in a varsol vat. IIRC there is a good diy write up in the diy part section of the forum.................

just a note- it seems that my W124 a 93 300E 2.8 has a metal cover on the monowiper and will not simply pop-off.

i sprayed some white lithium grease on the shaft and ran the wiper a few times to try and let it penetrate.

Dow 33 would probably be good for the ring gear inside the clamshell. Think a waterproof plastic gear grease with temp stability. I simply used a very small amount of Gleitpaste to replace the minimal amount of grease that was used to begin with.
The piston bushing in the arm seems to be a felt type that needs to be loaded up with grease. In a pinch trans fluid works fine.

Not sure if it's covered in the topics above but the thing to be marked is the transmission where the motor spindle and relay shaft are attached. If these are not marked you have some difficulty getting clocked correctly. Taking the wiper itself apart is easy.
