C230 Idle Speed?
I recently noticed that my Son's 1998 C280 idles at about 800 rpm.
However, my 1999 C230 Kompressor idles at about 1300 rpm. Should mine be that high rpm? It doesn't feel like it's racing at a stop light. His is a 6 cyl while mine is a 4 cyl engine but other than that? Do turbo charged engines idle faster maybe? Just wondering if I am burning a lot of extra gas going nowhere!

Both cars were designed to idle at aprox 750 RPM.
On the C230, I would try cleaning the throttle butterfly & housing & make sure that there aren't ant vacuum leaks.

Idle Speed
Thanks MBdoc;
Sounds logical, but where is the throttle butterfly? and how would I go about checking for vacuum leaks?
