brake dilemma 190e 2.6

Good day guys. got me a serious problem.I replaced my master cylinder and was in the process of bleeding the system and no brake fluid was coming out of the bleed nipple of the left brake caliper.I opened the line from the anti-lock pump to the left front brake and no fluid came out either.i opened the input to the pump from the master cylinder and fluid came out.is it that the pump is blocked and need to be cleaned and is there a way to clear the blocked outlet port of the pump?

Did you first bench bleed the new master cylinder before installing it?
