how to disable ASR function for S600 W140?
 
Hi anyone knows how to disable ASR function to prevent limphome mode, i have change all parts necessary as indicated on the star diagnosis but still the ASR light comes on alternately . I was told to ask MB doc.

Hey what up cool? Its pin one and pin six, I think, take a small wire and install one end in pin 1 and the other end in pin 6,,tape it so it wont fall out. this will not make the dash light go out bur will disable the ASR in the car..:D

Wasn't there a post recently, somewhere, that said "whatever you do don't connect pins 1 and 6, it eventually blows out the X? (some very expensive electronic part) Sorry, can't remember the details.

Rule #1 when approaching an ASR light is to start from the ground-up and IGNORE the codes. Simplest parts first! You want to replace the ETA, wiring harne$$e$, etc? Feel free, but you might want to check simple grounds and non-indicated eletrical issues first

13 years ago I had a similar thing with ASR light coming on. It was accompanied by a sort of, far off drumming noise that stopped when the ASR light came on. The car was under MB warranty at the time and MB bled the brake system several times and the problem never recurred. They put it down to air in the system, I think.

Don't know if that's any use.

any idea which part will be affected/ is it the ASR control module?

Hi Buddy it just might work but need to find out if there are any side effects? any idea is most welcome.
