Warning about CRP idle air hoses for M103

Bought a CRP Industries idle air hose, sold under the Elaplast brand (the one from the idle air valve to the intake), and finally got around to fitting it. You all know how buried in the engine it is, so I get everything off and find out that the damned thing is so mismolded and made funny that it won't fit for ****. Vacuum leak waiting to happen. Doh! I'd send it back but I bought it two years ago and just now figured I'd replace it. LOL live and learn. In the trash it goes.

Anyone contemplating doing this, get a dealer part.

had the same experience working on my friend's 300CE. the hose that has the cold start injector is not easy to re/re! got the dealer part, it wasn't a whole lot more money.

Bought TruckTech (sp?) versions of M103 hoses... they were also terrible. Bought deal ones... perfection.

Same brand, same experience! The one for the Head side was so poorly molded I didn't think I should even use it so I went to the dealer and got a good one. Not much more $. I did use the intake side hose, it fit good but developed a 1 1/2" crack just a year later (as opposed to the original that lasted nearly 20 years). Absolute crap.

Those gasser air hoses are minimally more expensive at the stealer, never worth aftermarket junk.

Not only is it not the correct 'bend', the ends won't push all the way onto their respective connections to gain adequate purchase on the fittings. Also get this - I had to drill out the cold start injector hole. The hole was there, but the bottom dead-ended. Don't know who is responsible for making these things but they haven't done their homework.

I have a Meyle for the intake boot side. It fits but I'm not sure it will last LOL. At least it's easier to get to if I need to replace it again.

Pelican should be made aware of this garbage they are selling LOL
