Question 1973 220D Heater

Can anyone tell me how to get the heater fan out of a 1973 220D? The fan does not work when I turn on the switch. I have checked all of the fuses that I could find, but that does not seem to be the problem. It is a pain to scrape ice off of the inside of the windows. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
