exhaust poor 190e
I put off for a while installing the new exhaust system on my 190e. The muffler was supposed to be new when I got it. I ordered everything, but it when I decided to tackle it a week ago. After getting it up in the air the rear muffler was totally shot. I had it all installed but it, and it arrived today. I got it mounted up in there now, and I was looking at the old muffler he installed. It showed made in Isreal. The new muffler and short tailpipe weighed 22 lbs. It's a deep pocket expense to replace one of those exhaust systems, and no it's not S.S. either. It is super quiet now!

Yes,
A good lesson, "cheap" parts aren't always the less expensive way to go.

I am kind of interested to know if you still have the original exhaust systems on your cars late 80's & 90's, or if you have had to replace it?

It depends on where you live.
My summer only 71 Cutlass has at least 70K/28 years on the aluminized muffler system. My summer only 95 E320 has the original muffler system (17 years). My winter only 91 Marquis needs a new exhaust system every 2-3 years. |
