How can I remove and then install the MB star and the 420 sel on the trunk?

Many people use dental floss. The adhesive can generally be removed with WD-40.

use dental floss to go around the emblems. the numbering is only attached by adhesive so the dental floss wil take that right off, the trunk star is on by adhesive around the ring and the middle star has 3 posts towards the center holding it in place. use the floss to go around the entire trunk star then get the floss around the three posts and slightly lift just high enough to fit a small blade underneath to pry it out. be careful as not to crack the star. also, when done, use regular rubbing alcohol to take off the remaining adhesive, followed up by meguires scratch x to clean any residual film, then meguires carnuba plus car wax to polish it up. It will look as though the car never had tunk badges or emblems.

That is the process I used to debadge my car, but I replaced my chrome trunk mercedes star with a black merceds star

New emblems come with adhesive. You can buy the small white plastic grommets for the trunk star holes.

Oh, you wanted to reuse the emblems? You are on your own... But I'm sure 3M makes some product like emblem adhesive... Or find some adhesive double stick tape somewhere, or just off the shelf white stuff if you are in a hurry.

Use 3M double sided tape. Cut small strips of tape and press them firmly to the back of the emblem, leaving the red protective strip over the other side of tape that will be attached to the car. Then, because the emblem has an irregular shape, put a small amout of super glue or rubber cement around the edges of the tape to secure it to the emblem. Once it dries you can peel off the red backing on the other side of the tape and apply it to the car. Make sure the car is free of dust before reapplying.
