300SL exhaust manifold coating
As a newcomer to this site I'd appreciate help from the vast knowledge out there.
I have a 100 pt. concours (well, almost!) 1989 300SL , straight 6 cyl. back in England. I have some 'pitting' on the exhaust manifolds, i.e., small specks of rust showing through the original factory coating. I do not want to buy new factory manifolds (except as a last resort) so does anyone know what process is used and/or the technical name for the coating or process used. It' kind of a grey/whitish finish. And if anyone is reading this in England, can they recommend a metal finishing company who could do the job there? Thanks to anyone who can help. |
To make the exhaust look like new I bead blast the manifold & then have them POWDER coated with a cast grey color ceramic coating.
