I have emailed him, but he did not respond.

Take it out of the car and it should be self-evident how to rebuild it. It's a rather simple harness.

Sorry for not replying to your email, Jack
I saw it on my phone and it slipped out of my mind. Really sorry. Please call me as I always pick up my phone.
Lower harness is very simple. There are three to four wires that need to be replaced. And main alternator wire taped over as its insulation is pretty tough. To remove it you have to remove passenger side carpet, there will be a connector on the floor, two bolts and it will be ready to remove from under the car. I believe that lower harness new from dealer is around $150. Someone posted the price on some forum. I might be mistaking though. I can rewire it for you with military spec teflon coated wires that withstand direct fire. Call me and we can talk about it. Thanks. Victor at restoreyourmercedes |
For some reason an S320 lower harness lists for $400, so around $300 with discount. At that price rebuilding is a no-brainer.
