how to fix a 190E sunroof?
 

Hey all, I'm trying to help a friend fix his sunroof on his 190E, none of us know much of anything about the sunroof other than it's the cable we gotta replace. I did a search to try and find detailed instructions about how to get the panel out and do everything correctly. Anyone have a link with detailed instructions or someone who could type some up? We'd really appreciate it. Our dealer wants a rediculous price to look at it and fix it. Over $500. Considering the cable is $55 at fast lane, i'd prefer it :) So any help would be greatly appreciated on instructions to replace it, get everything off, what kind of tools we'll need, and get it back on. Thanks guys!

You might not even need the cable. What are the symptoms of the problem? My sunroof would not close allthe way and the small bolts came loose from the cable assembly and fell out. I took the inner sunroof panel out and foundthe bolts and put them back with loctite and the roof has been good ever since.

To my knowledge...I will check with my friend tomorrow, the sunroof is shut and will not open at all, won't budge.

Hey, the sunroof does not move, the cabel seems to be broken, it makes noises and won't move. Any instructions? Whether to get the sunroof out or to fix it?
