OOPPSS! W129 Steering Lock/Ignition Switch
 

I have removed and replaced the ignition switch on my 1996 SL320. Now, I am trying to replace the ignition cylinder sleeve onto the ignition lock. They are not aligning. I think the ignition lock is in position O...but it is supposed to be in position 1. Any help?I Hope?

So, I guess my real question is: with the ignition cylinder removed...AND the steering lock engaged, how do I disengage the steering lock...or can I without breaking it?:eek:

I have drilled the steering lock...now, I am in the process of removing it.
