W126 electric water circulation pump?

I thought I read the diesels have these recirculation pumps, but a gaser? I ask because the other day I shut the car off but left the heat going. The heat stayed strong for a VERY long time. Much longer than any car I have ever had. My other cars would blow heat for a little while then you would notice it drop quick. If you fired up the car for just a second warm fluid would move back into the core and you would have heat for a little while again. Not the 560, heat was great for a long time.

Just curious.

They all have it, it keeps the coolant flow through the monovalve even

Thanks. Good to know and explains the persistent heat. I like it!

A word of caution: When the aux pump goes bad it will likely take the climate control unit (push button unit) out when it does. There's a popular mod to install a 1 amp (I believe) in-line fuse to protect against this. Just an FYI. A member on here sells a nice little pre-made harness.

http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/mercedes-used-parts-sale-wanted/242553-1-amp-fuse-link-w123-auxiliary-water-pump-%96-plug-play.html.

I just came across this!!
I lost it all....electrical fire high up in the dash

I think I'm going to fuse all my cars now.

This shouldn't happen on the GenII cars, the climate control computer can sense the overdraw and shuts down the system. But extra protection never hurts

I was wondering this. I recall seeing something about second gen cars having a protection built in. I've still got two first gen cars though. I'd imagine my 201 has a protection as well though.

Fuses and such are cheap though so might as well.

Right of the battery you'll see the monovalve. The pump is to the right and a bit down from that I think. That's where it is on my 300sd. I think all 126s are the same. I think the 2 prong connector on the left side of the monovalve is the plug for the aux pump. But I'm not 100%
