722.6 Transmission Rebuild
I am currently shopping for a fair price to perform a “soft rebuild” on my 2003 W203 722.6 transmission. This will also include replacing the torque converter. The soft rebuild includes the following parts;
1. Metal clad front and rear seals 2. Hi-temperature rubber 0-rings and seals 3. Rubber drum seals or bonded rubber clutch pistons 3. Bushings and bearings 4. Clutch plates 5. Bands 6. Modulators 7. Filter/s 8. Upgrade kit 9. Automatic transmission fluid-ATF Based on pricing so far it looks like it’s going to be near $2200. That figure also incudes a 3-year 36K warranty. Does this seem like a reasonable estimate? In case you’re wondering the clutches for 3rd gear are slipping. I’m getting a RPM flare at that shift point. We tried changing the spring but the problem is still there. The previous owner drove it for many miles with a broken 2-3-shift spring. The car has 161K and looks and runs excellent. It’s my daughter’s car and I want it to be right. Any thoughts will be appreciated. srb1194 |
Go check the price at Sun Valley Dismantlers in California. Just got finished up with my rebuild 722.3 from them.

I'm in South Carolina though. How would that work?
