Can I change the front shocks on C320?

How hard is it to replace the front shocks on my 2003 C320?

The right side takes a bump hard, seems like the shock is gone.

THanks

Do you have a manual ? like Haynes 63040

I've done it on my W202 and it was doable, as I recall on my W202 I had trouble removing a ball joint, but that doesn't seem like an issue with W203's. The W203 from reading in the manual looks easier.

Hopefully someone that has done it can reply, it seems that no kind of strut compressor is needed.

These cars (W203) do have a tendency to have stabilizer bar links become noisy - so if your getting a noise that may be the source. Just a tip.

I need to order a CD Manual for the 320.

I have two CD's for the 126 body, 1989 420SEL, but I sold it last month.

Anyone interested in the CD's/

I'll trade the 420SEL service CD's for the 2003 C320 service manual on CD

Make sure the sway bar links aren't worn. Very common on the W203, and it feels similar to a bad shock.

Special spring compressor is needed on the W203 chassis front struts!
