spark plugs

I know many of you have your different opinions about what spark plugs you use, from ngk to beru to champion to bosch. I just want to know if it is ok to use the bosch resistor plugs (HR9DC) or the iridium-platinum plugs, or do I have to continue on with the H9DC plugs that are no longer made, but the dealership can still get them.

use non resistor copper plugs only. Beru or NGK should have a set you need.

I see no difference in resistor or non.I do like the NGK split fire plugs, they work well with nitrous.I pulled old dealer brand Bosch platinum 4s,but nitrous hates platinum.Matter of fact I got faster 1/4 mile from them

there's resistance built into the wires. that's why non-resistor plugs. go with ngk coppers if you can't find bosch. absolutely, no bosch platinums. i know they're resistor plugs, but the low price is always tempting. good luck, chuck.

The tribe has spoken: non-resistor it is. Does anyone have the part number for the Beru or the NGK non-resistor copper plugs and where I can get them? Also, does it matter if I use the Bosch wires because I get them for free. Thanks.

Ismalley, go to the Beru and NGK websites and look up the correct spark plug for your car. Recommend Beru ignition wires, but see how the Bosch wires perform.

just looked at both websites......nothing. only resistor plugs and ngk didn't have the proper gap for my car which is .32. I'll just stick with getting them from the dealer. Thanks

Careful of the dealer. Mine in France sold me 2 lots of 6 for my 300CE-24 at a stupendous 200 Euro and they were never as good as when I got Beru non-resistor plugs for abut 2 Euro each. Never again.

The non-resistor copper plugs are hard to find. Buy more than one set when you do.

Bosch H9DC0
NGK BP5EFS (hotter)
NGK BP6EFS (colder)
Champion S12YCC
Beru 14 K-9 DUO
Beru 14 K-7 DUO (Z18)

i've got a 100+ new bosch h9dc plugs, made in germany

$3.00 each plus $6.00 shipping to all 50 states

oldsinner111 02-29-2012 09:52 AM

soon as I can I will buy Iridium plugs. As they are real good for nitrous, and they don't flake like platinum

Gilly 02-29-2012 11:26 PM

If you want to go with resistor plugs, I'd see about getting rid of the resistor ends on the plug wires.

This. I use them in both my cars and they are great. They are like $3/each on amazon.

The offer above for the Bosch plugs are great -- I'd snap some up from him probably a couple sets because they are getting more difficult to find every day (and expensive!!) since they are NL in production.
