Question on steering gear bolts
In the maintenance manual of my 97 C280, it specifies that the steering gear bolts must be retightened every 30,000 miles.
Listed as: "Retighten steering gear bolts 4671" What bolts are they referring to, the mounting bolts or the adjustment bolt in the box? How do I do this and what is the correct tightening torque? Thanks in advance.

The torque spec is 70 to 80 nm. The bolts are the ones that hold the steering gear box to the vehicle chassis, they are accessed in the left wheel housing, there are 3 of them.
I believe this is actually done AT 30,000 miles (once) not every 30,000 miles. Gilly
