Original equipment suspension parts?

I have been searching, but have no conclusive information. The car in question is my 89 300e w124, but could apply to many models.

When shopping for suspension parts, what brand IS original equipment? I have been shopping around for ball joints, tie rods, and control arm stuff and am no where near figuring it out.

I read somewhere TRW/ lucas?

This would be useful for anyone looking for genuine mercedes parts, and not pay double for a fancy box..

Mercedes O.E. Parts (Not O.E.M.,Etc.,Etc.,etc.)

1.The ONLY way to get REAL O.E. Mercedes Branded parts is Inside the Factory
Packaging.SEALED Packaging!
2."Lifespan Enhancing/Critical Parts" SHOULD BE MERCEDES BRANDED !!!
[Suspension,Brakes,Steering as examples]
BUT as always YMYP [Your Mercedes Your Pleasure]...Unless you run into ME with your dangerously equipped Faux Mercedes!!!
3.There are ALL KINDS of Ways to acquire Mercedes Branded Parts WITHOUT
"Enabling" the Stealership's Rape of your Pocketbook/Wallet.
4.There is a vast difference between "The Packaging" (Boxes to You) enclosed parts [Mercedes O.E.] and anything else.

____________________________________________________________________________________________________ ______
You're Looking for O.E.M. "Type" parts (From your description)

"This would be useful for anyone looking for genuine mercedes parts, and not pay double for a fancy box.."

(CLUE...Ya'll ain't getting No Genuine Mercedes Parts without the "Fancy Box")

No, I am not looking for aftermarket parts. I am looking for genuine parts for my car. I bought ate rotors from ate. The IDENTICAL rotors from MB (ate) where significantly more. Same part, different box.

If genuine rotors are ate, why buy them from the dealer for much more money?

If the only place that has genuine parts is the dealer, I will buy them from the dealer.

BraaaaaaaaaaaaccccK ! (Annoying Basketball Stadium Horn)

'Trying to tell You...

1.YOU CAN GET MERCEDES PARTS OUTSIDE THE STEALERSHIP CHAIN OF SUPPLY

2.If It Ain't in the FACTORY MERCEDES PACKAGING, IT AIN'T a Mercedes Part !!!

(It's O.E.M. "Type" ,Which is what you [apparently] WANT)

YOU cannot "Have Your Cake and Not Pay for It."

Use the link I sent you for comparison of Mb Parts Prices.

Then Google:
O.E.
O.E.M.

And understand the difference.

They ain't Identical!

And the Boxes (Packaging) is not what makes the difference!

Mercedes REQUIRES their Suppliers/Vendors meet certain QC standards.
THE NON-MERCEDES BRANDED PARTS DO NOT MEET THOSE STANDARDS!

They may LOOK the Same, To You.

Unsolicited Rant:
DO NOT EVER BUY AIRPLANE PARTS FOR ANYONE !

If you're looking from genuine MB parts, you can always buy from Parts.com.

Their parts ship directly from MBUSA warehouses in Illinois and New Jersey. They're notorious for over zealous shipping packaging. I ordered two foam seat supports (bout the size of a tall beer can). They arrived in a 12x12x12 box full of air bag type packing material. FOR FOAM THAT YOU SIT ON!

Their prices are most of the time going to be cheaper than going directly to your local dealership, mine always charges me list price, Part.com is always under list.

Sometime they're cheaper than FastLane, Auto Haus, etc. Sometimes not. But the product always comes in Mercedes packaging.

My 190E had TRW brand tie rod ends. I'm not sure if these were original or not but I've never seen TRW for sale on any of the normal parts sites.

So, I thought I would update. The control arms that came in (genuine MB) where stamped TRW. I'm not sure if aftermarket TRW would be as good, but I would guess it to be the next best thing.

Generally Lemfoerder is a qualified MB supplier. Sachs, Boge, Bilstein also are.
