1986 300 E shock absorber test
 

hi,my 300e is 175k miles and I'd like to learn about how to test my shock absorbers condition. Any coment will be welcomed gratefully.

For a quick test, push down on a corner of the car, if it springs back to its original position without bounceing up and down, the shocks should be OK. If you see the car bounce up and down a couple of times or so before the motion stops, then the shocks are probably finished.

If they are the original shocks, replace them. Chances are they are gone by now. My shocks were.:(
