Has anyone ever tried this?
Greetings, Forumistas!
I have a chance to pick up a really slick battery charger. The issue is: it's a 24V model. However, it seems to me that if I charged two 12v batteries in series instead of parallel, I could use this battery charger, right? The amperage would just be 1/2 the normal, correct? Since the overall charge rate is low, I can't see any type of damage possible. What is the consensus of the group? Thanks! |
It should work, back in my commercial fishing days we would use two 12 volt batteries insted of one big battery. Was cheaper we rans in series and used 24 volt charger

Yes, in series.
2 batteries in parallel = 2x the amps @ source voltage. 2 batteries in series = 2x the voltage @ source amperage |
