722.6 valve body part that no one can get. I can!

i just bought a car that one of my friends gave up on. basically, he replaced the conductor plate and then didn't reconnect the shifter to that plastic clip in the valve body. when i tried slamming the shifter into park, it busted the clip.

well, i searched and searched, and the answer was always the same. no one sells the part, you must get a whole new valve body. besides being stupid expensive, it's just stupid to have to spend 4-900 dollars for this part.

so i went to a racing parts fabricator with a cnc mill. he is charging me 250 to blueprint and make the first one. we are making a few cosmetic changes, and the rod will be held in by a spring clip around the head. it will be made of billet.

now here is the best part. after we field this, he has told me that after the blueprinting, we can make more of them for about 125 a piece. and for other trannys that have a similar design, we can simply adjust the cut without re-blueprinting.

so i am putting the word out. i will have the piece in about three weeks. if it works out, would anyone else like to get one of these? i only ask that if you do, please kick in 5 bucks to help offset the extra 150 i spent on the blueprinting. feel free to pm me. and yes, i will post pictures after we get the part back.

thanks, jess

btw, if someone did find where to get these, please let me know so i can go and stop them and get some of my money back!

Could you post a picture of the part you are making?

I followed your post on on what a bargain of a car you got, but on this site you cannot post links to give you-a bummer...I sent you a reply, but it did not show up.

The 722.6 is the best Mercedes transmission. I would kill to have that in my S320: It is easy to trouble shoot-Many suppliers make parts for it-Lots of repair data-very easy to take apart-very robust

About your part: look-up dacco transmission parts then go to catalogs look-up the 722.6, and look at the exploded diagram; Call dacco order the part...

About your oil for that: look-up ryderfleetproducts then look up shell134 it is $5.38/qt

I have more info on this great transmission, but I cannot post it here. Come to benzworld and look me up under the same screen name. I will send you all the info.

Best of luck,

Martin
