c36: valve cover removal
I've done a search but could not find anything specific from past posts. Maybe you guys can help me out ...
I have a 1995 C36 and would like to get the valve cover powder coated. This means that I have to remove the valve cover while it gets sand-blasted and powder coated (2-day procedure). Here's my "novice" question: How do I remove the valve cover? What do I watch out for? Do I have to replace any seals or gaskets while I'm doing this? Should I even attempt it? Thanks for any input :) |
The hardest thing about the job IS; being very careful. THE coils are mounted to the V/cover & the wires can be brittle.
YES you will need a new gasket(kit). NOT a hard job, but make surt to keep the valve train under cover while the cover is being re-coated. |
