When turning on wipers they move slow, the srs light flashes and the radio volume goes quiet on my 96 E320. When wipers start working at normal speed srs light goes away and the radio volume comes back.

Rain-X. Problem solved. I don't think that the wiper is on the same circuit as the wipers, but I may be wrong.
