Factory Fog lights

I'm a new kid on the block and I'm glad to find some place that speaks Mercedes.
My partners '82 MB 300sl has factory fog light but we can not find the switch to turn them on .
Also where would we search to find a shop manual
in the wilds of British Columbia,Canada

Hello Hank, and welcome to the site!

Pull the headlight knob out one notch after turning it to the right one or two clicks. Pull it out two notches to activate the rear fog light as well.

Where is the rear fog light physically located (on a 560sl). I can't seem to find it. Thanks.

In Canada, MB didn't start putting the rear fogs on until about 1992 or MY. Your 560SL might not have it.

Rear fog is located in the driver's side rear cluster. If you look closely at both cluster sides you'll notice that the left side has an extra bulb than the right.

On my 124 the right side has the hole for an extra bulb, but no electrical contact within in. I suppose this is for mass production reasons.
