tranny and diffential plugs-MM size?
What size are the differential and transmission fill and drain plugs (allen wrench) on an'82 240D? (manual tranny). To lazy to measure and to cheap to buy a set of ten. I Love this Land Yacht!! Wish I had bought one years ago!:o

I think that they are 13mm

I was thinking 14mm.

No, they are 14 MM.
Autozone sells a decent set of 3 big allens (maybe 12, 14, and 17) for under $10. Worth buying. Ron Dwelle |
Thanks.
Wow, got slammed in less than 8 minutes. I'll get both the 12, 14, and 17 or what ever.
thanks again, the bern. |
I think on the transmission the drain is 13 mm and fill is 14? at least the fill was loose with a 13 mm, but it worked. You do not need to buy a wrench set just use a bolt, with 2 nuts tightened together on it. You put the head in the drain plug and use a wrench on the inner bolt to loosen, and then use the wrench on the outer to tighten. Mine is a gas W126 with manual tranny. Just put in a new clutch. What a job that was!!!!
