Sorry to hear of your loss David. Life is precious indeed. Prayers go out to you and his loved ones.

When I was about your age, I lost 2 friends in car accidents. One was a high speed (71 Pontiac T/A 455 Super Duty) run that resulted in an accident and the other guy was stinking drunk and drove off the road after the Minnesota Twins won the World Series back in 1987 (his senior year in H.S.) Thinking back, we felt invincible - how wrong we were.

Time will help soothe the soul. Cherish your memories of him. Never have a harsh word for anyone as you never know if you will have time to say "I'm sorry". My condolences - God Bless.

Not good You have my sincere condolences.

100mph+ in a Tahoe is just plain suicide, I've had Navigators and Denali's chase me down and I was scared for the drivers! But it sounds like your friend had other problems that may have contributed.

Deepest sympathies on the loss of your friend. The pain his family must feel is unimaginable.

Unfortunately, there was another thread last July featuring Ryan. It was not hard to see that he was putting himself at risk at that time.

Again, deepest sympathies. There is a lesson to be learned here.

18 Year old driving age !

How many of our family and friends have to die at a young age before they change the minimum driving age to
18 ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????
It is the ONLY thing that makes sense!

Thank you all very much.

Thankfully (jeez, or not?), this was a different Ryan. The other Ryan with the jeep is my best friend...! That really doesn't sound right...

It's just so weird... thinking how last week I was telling him that I know he's hurting inside, but that I would always be here for him, and I would never judge him and only do what I could to help his well being. I will not think of that, and blame myself. Rather, I will it as a learning lesson, making sure to push even further to get through to the ones that are having problems.

This makes me feel...

It makes me feel sorry for the lives that are left without their loved one. His father...his friends...

It makes me mad that young people endanger their own lives without a second thought.

Take some time David, the real shock to your system is coming. Make sure you're sitting down when it comes.

May the good Lord watch over you.

Death is part of life. For some, death comes much sooner
than anticipated. It is always a shock. May we all look at
this accident and learn that indeed a short life is all that we
have at best. Let us live it in peace and be safe...

God Bless,

Tully Lee

As a 17 year old... this story is a wake up call for me and other young drivers of the danger of speeding.
I am sorry for the loss of your friend.

David, I Hope You Understand Now...

Why myself and others have been so hard on you in the past here on the forums. It's only because we all truly care about you and what might happen to you.

We here at Mercedes Shop are a kind of family. When one hurts, we all hurt. When one errs, we offer solace and correction. When one needs us we are all there...

We are all here for you right now.

One thing that really got me was this letter his 11 year old sister, Katie, wrote:

Name: Katie Newman
E-Mail: onehotktbug
Comments: Ryan was the best brother anyone could ever ask for. He never made fun of me or beat me up like most brothers do. I remember when he was 16 though, he put itching powder in my shirt for Halloween. He was always there for me and even when he was in L.A. with his friends I would call him on his cell and he would talk to me.I always gave him a hug and a kiss before he left home. Always.I love all his friends he was so lucky to have all you guys. I loved him so much and I'm just glad I got to show him that every day.I love you Ryan Thomas Newman. You were a great brother.R.I.P.Love from your baby sister.
