85 380 SE pulling to the right on braking-after new Master Cyl, Calipers, pads, hoses
After a long period of storage, my 85 380SE was pulling very hard to the right with even moderate braking. I pulled the front calipers, one was obviously seized, so I replaced the front calipers (rebuilt) which came loaded with new pads, and new brake hoses front and rear, plus a brand new Master cylinder. Complete system bleed/flush including cracking the flare nuts on the ABS unit (one was dry for a minute then began to flow brake fluid) ABS unit appears to be functioning correctly.
After all the work was done,...it is much better, however, it still has a pronounced pull to the right. Any thoughts on what I might look at? Brian in Austin / Cedar Park |
When I started reading this I had brake hose on my mind, but then I read that you replaced all of them. Good move by the way.
I am wondering if since the car sat up for a long time, is there possibly one rotor that is significanly rustier than the other. It would be interesting to see if a few miles of city driving will help. That said, my gut is saying that maybe there's something up with the ABS unit. Sometimes they cause difficulties in bleeding. |
