Help to find 300E clutch disc part number

Hello,

I cannot find the 300E's 9.5'' clutch disc in the EPC. Does anyone have this part # handy? I am looking for a clutch to go with the single mass flywheel for M103.

EPC seems to think 300Es only come in automatic flavor.

I should mention I am looking for a 1986 300E clutch. Did these cars came in single mass flywheel flavors?

Buying clutches themselves is about the only thing that is easy to find for a MT 300E. Other things that are MT specific for these cars can be hard to find. Things like Cruise Control clutch switches and hydraulic parts.

I bought a complete clutch probably 10 years ago, but it's still on the shelf so I don't even remember where I bought it. I was buying most of my parts from Performance Products in those days, so that's probably where it came from. My car still has the factory clutch at 319K miles.

I'm quite sure it is a single mass flywheel and evidently quite durable.

John5788, contact the Parts Department at your local MB dealer.

my dealer cannot do anything without a VIN. anyone have the VIN to a 300E equipped manual w/ single mass flywheel?

Clutch disc = A0112501103

Clutch pressure plate = A0042502004

Release bearing = A0012502315 or A0012502415

Flywheel = A1030301405

Single mass flywheel seems to be the norm in the W124 300E.

Does your car not have a VIN?

Someone who knows the EPC doesn't need the WIN. You only punch in 124030 witch is W124 300E and select USA then you select clutch and there are only one set of partnumbers that fit these cars.

Thanks. I think EPC was a bit buggy when I was first checking for the part number. The CLUTCH menu option was not there when I checked, which is why I asked online. But yes this is exactly what I needed!

Did you insert a WIN from a car with automatic transmission?

John5788 07-24-2012 07:19 PM

No, I typed in 124030 in the search box.

Seeing these parts brings up another question though. What exactly are the differences between a 2.6 and 3.0 flywheel? part numbers A1030301405 (3.0L) vs A1030301205 (2.6L)

I would have thought the M103s would share the same flywheels regardless. Will the 9.5'' 3.0L clutch disc fit on the flywheel for 2.6L which originally used a 9'' clutch disc?

300E just uses a bigger clutch and nothing fits between the two.
