Whose car can wheelspin?

Thought I'd get some input on this - whose car will wheelspin?

Not huge smoky burnouts, even something small counts! I'm Only talking in a straight line, and not holding the brakes on (!) - even my 190E 2.0 will spin if I'm turning sharp, but never in a dead straight line, even in the wet.

My 300E 2.6 can't. Can barely spin in 2ft of snow with bald tires.
My Corvette sure can though.

Waht's wheelspin?

I have two MB's. The 1991 300TE 4matic has $7000 of factory equipment installed for the sole purpose of preventing wheels from slipping. Unless there's over an inch of snow on the ground and you're into wide open throttle, it just tracks happily along.

My 1980 300D has 77 factory HP in a 3500 lb chassis. Unless I find a fresh oil slick, I can't even turn the tires on a wet road. It's also pretty good in the snow with plain old Dunlop D60A2's.

My 190E-2.6 cannot spin its wheels from dead stop, even when the road is wet. Sluggish 0 - 100 kph time of 9+ secs.

My 1995 C36, no ASR, easily breaks the grip of the stock 245/40 ZR17 tires. 0 - 100 kph is 6+ secs. Wheee!

Mine leaves about 10 meters of black (from both wheels)rubber on the road from take off . But I think that all that wheel spine hinders the 0 -100 km/h time

300CE - wet or dry, doesn't matter

300D turbo...brake stands...wet (definitely) dry...sometimes with a little coaxing, but I stopped driving like I had a Z28 several years ago.

280e euro

My 280E euro will do this every time if I am not careful. Quite fast for a 20 year old car!

My 1977 300D....

It wouldn't spin it's tires if I floored in while sitting in a pool of Crisco. Never did, never will.

400E

The 400E is very well geared, most of the time stomping on the throttle will result in a nice launch. On rare occasions when a tire does slip, you've gotta get your foot of the gas before the tire gets shredded. It could put on an impressive smoke show if one so desired :-)

When I had stock 195 tires on my 400E, I could easily slip my tires from stand still, even at 40-50 kmph. After I put on 215 tires, haven't slipped tires on dry road yet, though I feel on wet road I can slip the tires at any speed.

With my 5 speed I have gotten a nice chirp but haven't really pushed it, I've changed too many clutches

Both the C230 and E300 will spin the Michelin Pilot Alpins on dry pavement. Both would give a nasty chirp to the OE MXV4's. The E300 cannot break the RE950 loose, not even a little bit.

The C36 would roast the Michelin Pilot Sports.

The 190E 2.3's had no hope of spinning tires.

The 190E 2.3-16V could.
