Question Looking for an EXCELLENT Machine Shop in Texas

I have a 420 engine out of a 91 420 SEL. The engine threw a timing chain and one of the valves damaged the cylinder wall. I'm looking for an EXCELLENT machine shop in Texas to handle the machine work on this block. I'm looking for the best.

Thanks,
Michael Vickers

In San Antonio, the best is Duffin Engine Service at 1227 Hallmark (just south of S.A. Intl. Airport), phone (210) 341-8183. Very professional and clean facility staffed with knowledgeable folks. They just R&R'd the small end bushings for my 300D and did an excellent job - min. spec. is .012mm/.0005" and I measured them (also checking to find out how good my measuring skills are) and all rods were exactly the same - .012mm! Give them a call and talk with them about your engine.

Good Luck!
Tom

I'll second the good word for Duffin in San Antonio. They've been around forever and are used by many of the better shops in the area.

Bailey's Crankshaft in Dallas. Don't let the looks of the ratty old shop fool you. These guys are good. It's a father and son team.
As many good craftsmen, they are in demand, so sometimes it's hard to get things out on time, but that's part of a good machine shop.
