Thermovacuum Valve Question?
Does anybody happen to know what, if any, difference there is between a thermovacuum valve with the P/N 000 140 8060 and a valve with the P/N: 000 140 8060 67?
I have 2 of them here that I got from an online supplier. They’re both yellow which, AFAIK, indicates that they open at 70 degrees, and the PN stamped on both are 000 140 8060. However, the pkgs say “000 140 8060 67 replaces 000 140 8060.” OTOH, one Ebay listing says the 067 version is only compatible with the 380SL from 1982-1985, but not with my ‘81, even though the item detail shows 000 140 80 60 67 / 000 140 80 60. The originals were red, they opened at 50 degrees, and the EPC still shows their PN as 000 140 71 60 67 . But when I replaced them several years ago, my dealer gave me the yellow ones, and Mbdoc me to use those because they’d give me better acceleration when the engine was cold. So I’ve been using them ever since. Anybody have any ideas on this before I put them in or send them back? Thanks in advance. |

MB adds that suffix to MANY different part numbers, no change in operation
