W220 dtc P0705?

This indicates a "trans range sensor circuit malfunction"(PRNDL). I am not familiar with this at all. Is this actually a transmission issue or a shift lever issue?

That is an engine code, to really understand the problem you also need to read trans & shifter codes.

I assUme there is a trans shifting issue?

The shifter is a computer that requires a SDS scanner to initialize.
