How to remove dash speakers on 94' w140 S500 ?

How do you remove the dash speakers on a 1994 w140 S500?

While I'm at it I am also thinking I have to replace the passenger front door speakers also.

When faded and balanced to the front passenger side all I get is sound from the tiny speaker behind the mirror.

Any special tools etc? I don't want to just go at the dash grills and then find after I break one that there is a special clip or trick etc.

Jere:
On the front of the speaker grill, there is a trim strip. That trim strip is pried up using a small screwdriver, but lift up on the strip with the screwdriver, don't try PRYING it up or you'll damage the dash, but DON'T ask how I know this!!!
Once the trim strip is off you'll see a couple phillips screws, you can get those off with a small stubby phillips screwdriver, should come right out for you then.
The doors speaker R&R is easy once the inner door panel is removed, but getting the door panel off is kind of tough, may want to pass on doing that job yourself.

Thanks I found the trim strip you mentioned at the extreme front edge of the grill near the window, it looks just like a piece of the speaker grill, (about 3/4 of an inch wide and 3 inches long) that explains why I had to look three or four times to figure out what you were calling a trim strip. It came up very easily when I put the end of a very small flat head under it on the end farthest from the door pillar.

Now I am working on removing the front passenger door panel. I worked the bottom edge loose by gently prying straight away from the door frame, it is held on by a number of very brittle plastic friction fit pins. I am working my way up the panel. Any tips on what must be removed from the panel will be appreciated.

Still no darn shop manuals available for this year model, just microfiche.

Don't know if you REALIZE THAT THE DASH SPEAKERS on this car ARE FOR telephone OPERATION only.
